Tinley Park Outdoor Pool

Tinley Park Outdoor Pool Creates Community

At Riviera Sports Center, our members enjoy all things swimming whether it is recreational or for exercise. We have two pools for our guests to utilize: an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. Outside, our families can really bond during the summer months by having an opportunity to spend time together in the sun and cool off. There is a two-story water slide for the children and a baby pool with a center fountain for our youngest guests. Certified lifeguards on duty at all times make sure that everyone stays safe.

Come Inside When It Is Too Cool For Our Tinley Park Outdoor Pool

We have a 22-meter indoor pool that includes a free swim area and five lanes. Members can swim laps for exercise or just enjoy a leisurely swim. Our water temperature remains at a comfortable 82 to 84 degrees. No matter how old you are, you can sharpen your swimming skills with private or group swim lessons.

Many of our members also enjoy participating in an aquatic class as a new way to stay fit. For beginners, we have a basic, but invigorating workout called H2O for Health, and for those wanting more of a challenge we have Aqua Tone, which mixes in cardio and strength moves. Advanced exercisers will enjoy a challenge at our Power Packed Aquatics, which brings together speed and heavy resistance from the water. ZumWata is a fun way to exercise as it is the dance class Zumba, but in the pool!

Tinley Park Outdoor Pool Is Just One Of Our Perks

Our members can really find their exercise groove with so many avenues toward long-term fitness. We have basketball, racquetball and tennis courts for the sports enthusiasts. Our indoor track lets all of our runners, walkers and joggers stay moving no matter what the weather outside is like. Our Cardio and Weight Room is stuffed with all of the latest innovations and industry-leading names, such as Nautilus, Cybex, Stairmaster, and Nordic Track. Our group exercise classes are very popular and open to all of our members at no cost. Youth classes are set for every other Saturday. There is no registration required for our classes that meet in our 3,300-square-foot aerobics studio.

Riviera also offers perks that go beyond just exercising. We have a cafe where we serve up made-to-order smoothie drinks. Our cafe is also stocked with last-minute necessities, such as protein bars, swimming goggles and batteries. Also, do not skip relaxing in our health spa that includes a whirlpool and sauna. Our Sandbox Playtime Services offers child care to your children, so you can exercise without worrying about your little ones. Our staff will help them stay happy in this fun and educational environment.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
