Palos Park Fitness Center Brings Variety To Your Fitness Routine

Are you a jogger looking to dive into a water routine? Are you wanting the support of a group class? Maybe you want to change up your exercise strategy by shooting some hoops or adding strength. No matter what you are looking to do, we have all of the facilities and services that will bring fun and variety to your fitness plan at our health club in Palos Park.

At Riviera Sports Center, you will find an aerobic studio that features 3,300 square feet of space and a cushioned floor. Our skilled instructors lead fun and unique classes for all ages and fitness levels. When you are a member, you are able to attend any of our class offerings without having to worry about registering beforehand. Just show up to what you want when you want!

Step: This classic class has both low-impact and optional power moves with a component of core conditioning.

Tabata: High-intensity interval training that targets burning fat and boosting cardio.

Group power: Using barbells, instructors focus on major muscle groups.

Ab blast: All abs all of the time.

What We Offer At Our Palos Park Fitness Center

Our members will also find the fitness equipment that will help take their routines to another level. We have both strength training equipment and cardio machines that are state-of-the-art. We have such industry leaders as Nautilus, Life Fitness, Cybex, Nordic Track, Schwinn Airdynes, Windracers, and Stairmaster Stratus Cycles. We also have ab and back machines, stretching areas and TV entertainment systems.

No matter what the weather is, members can swim or shoot hoops in our indoor facilities. Our three basketball courts are open year-round and our outdoor court is open during the summertime. For our swimmers, we have a 22-meter indoor pool with free swimming and five lanes. We keep the water temperature at 82 to 84 degrees for a comfortable experience. You can also take a variety of aquatic classes as a new way to exercise. Our outdoor pool offers a great way to spend your summer days.

Our spa facilities feature a whirlpool and sauna while our cafe serves up fresh smoothie drinks and essentials such as nose plugs, batteries and protein bars.

Our Sandbox Playtime Services will help keep your little guys and gals busy and entertained while you work out. Our experienced staff will supervise kids ages 6 weeks through 7 years old while their parents work out.

COVID-19 Update

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.
