Palos Heights Gym Classes Bring Variety to Your Routine

Whether you are new to exercising or an advanced participant, we have put together a schedule of group classes that will fit every member. At Riviera Sports Center, all members can participate in any classes at any time without any extra cost. Classes meet in our spacious aerobics studio and are led by certified and knowledgeable instructors. We also have aquatic classes when you want to take your routine into the water. We strive to continue to offer classes that are unique and that add an element of fun to exercising.

Palos Heights Gym Classes Range From Dance to Traditional

When we put together our class schedule, we are sure to include the classes that you expect and that have stood the test of time. Step has been around for years and continues to be an excellent choice as it can be a low-impact workout and higher energy when power moves are added. Cycling can also be for newbies or advanced exercisers wanting to pump the pedals in a group environment. Zumba is a craze that continues! It is a fun way to move to the music while burning calories. We offer this class on land or water.

You can also find a class that mixes things up a bit! We unite all kinds of cardio moves in our cardio mix class that is constantly different. Uniting martial arts and boxing moves, you will get a kick out of our group kick class. When you are wanting a slower-paced workout, try our healthy moves class that includes cardio and strength training, but at a lower intensity. On the other end of the spectrum, try our Tabata high-intensity workout that takes interval training up a notch or our turbo kick class for dancing and kickboxing moves.

More Than Just Gym Classes in Palos Heights

When you want to embark on a different exercise journey, you will find it all at our sports center. Our pools let you splash into fun or fitness. You can swim free laps in our indoor pool no matter what it is like outside. For a family fun day, visit our outdoor pool during the hot days of summer to enjoy the sunshine and have a great time. Our outdoor baby pool has a center fountain, and there is a two-story water slide for your older kids.

Runners, walkers, and joggers can get their miles in on our indoor track any time of year. Our sports offerings include tennis, racquetball, basketball, and golf. Our cardio and weight room has all of the equipment that you need. When you are done working out, relax in our health spa or grab a cool beverage from our own cafe.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
