Mokena Fitness Classes Offer Variety Of Ways To Get Moving

Check out some of the great classes that are available for all of our members to take:

Group cycling: If you are a beginner or an advanced participant, you will find this cycling class invigorating.

Boot camp: Team skills and drills bring in both army-style cardio and strength moves.

Mokena Fitness Classes Hit The Water

Our members have access to both indoor and outdoor pools. Our seasonally-open indoor pool is a fun spot for families to enjoy time together and soak up some sun. Our indoor pool provides a free swim area as well as lanes for lap swimming. Private swim lessons are available to assist members seeking to boost their skills.

Members can also mix up their routines by taking one of our aquatics classes. These meet in our indoor pool and offer a fun way to get fit.

Some of our offerings include:

Aqua tone: This class combines cardio and strength for a high-intensity workout.

H2O for health: If you are a beginner, this class is for you.

Power-packed aquatics: If you are an advanced exerciser, you will find that this class is a challenge with speed and resistance moves in the water.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
