Why We Are Your New Lenox Gym

Group classes can be just what you want to stay motivated and feel accountable to an exercise routine. We continue to add a mix of unique classes for every level of exerciser whether they are looking to add strength or boost cardio. Our instructors are certified and all of our classes are free and registration is not required, so you can stop in whenever it fits your schedule.

A sample of our offerings:

Sculpt: When you are looking to join a strength class that won’t add bulk but will help shape and tone. Flexibility and cardio conditioning come together with the use of light dumbbells.

Pilates/Yugo Fusion: The best of both worlds will help you work on flexibility and balance while creating a stronger core.

Healthy Moves: For those looking for a lower-intensity workout, this class is good for beginners.

Boot Camp: Team drills and skills keep you moving in this army-style cardio class.

Cardio Mix: Different moves keep your body guessing for a fun workout.

More Ways To Get Healthy At Our New Lenox Gym

If sports are your thing, we have it here. We have both indoor and outdoor basketball courts. The outdoor court is open during the warmer months and you can shoot hoops year-round indoors. We often have summer camps for members looking to improve their skill set. Tennis courts indoors and outdoors are also available. A tennis ball machine is available to rent for a small fee. You will also find racquetball courts and a golf practice cage at our facility.

Swimming classes may be just what you need to change it up. We offer many classes to help you stay healthy in the water. If you are just looking to swim laps, you can do that as well in our five lanes and comfortable pool water. When it’s hot out, our outdoor pool is the place to have fun with your family as a recreational venue. Here, you will also find a baby pool and center fountain.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
