Frankfort Classes Available For All Fitness Levels

Our certified and experienced instructors in Illinois lead more than 40 classes every week in our large aerobic studio that features a cushioned “Action Thrust” maple floor. Each month you can check out what we have on tap in our current class schedule.

Some of our classes include:

ZUMBA: Music and moves mingle in this dance-based fitness craze.

Turbo Kick: High energy and lots of sweat will be the result of this class that is seen as a cardio challenge, bringing together kickboxing and dancing.

Strength Training: Fitness is not based on cardio alone. That is where classes like this fit in to help you build strength and muscle tone through weights, bands, and tubes.

Pilates: Working on a mat, participants use resistance, stretching and strengthening moves to create a lean look.

Step: This traditional class can be tailored by participants as a low-impact or higher-intensity workout.

Group cycling: All levels of exercisers can pedal their way to getting fit.

Boot camp: Team skills and drills are featured in this army-style cardio and strength class.

Cardio mix: Class facilitators change up this class, so you can always keep your body guessing.

COVID-19 Update

June 18, 2020

Riviera Country Club Members:

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting our way of life for all of our families, friends and businesses, particularly in the state of Illinois. First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

We receive inquiries daily from members asking, “When is the Club going to re-open?” Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question as it is entirely up to the governor to give us that approval. The state has recently moved to Phase 3 of its plan, which on the surface includes the opening of “Personal Care Services and Health Clubs” however, it only allows Health and Fitness Clubs to provide outdoor classes for up to 10 participants and one-on-one personal training indoors with IDPH approved safety guidance. This in no way, by any stretch of the imagination, constitutes the opening of Gyms and Health Clubs.

Please keep in mind that we are a full service all-inclusive club with many members and could not reopen in piecemeal form. Most members have specific aspects of the club for which they have become members and use it: Some for tennis; others for exercise classes; and still others for the pool or spa or something else. If any of these aspects cannot be available, then the club does not serve a purpose for those members. Therefore, the entire club will need to be open and available to our members when we open our doors again.

To that end, it looks like the governor’s plan would need to move to Phase 5 for Health Clubs and Spas to fully re-open. The governor’s plan would move to Phase 5 when either a vaccine is developed to prevent the spread of the virus, a treatment option is readily available that ensures health care capacity is no longer a concern, or there are no new cases over a sustained period.

We hope to have additional information in the near future as we move through these unprecedented times. In the meantime, please stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dan O’Donnell
